Clear Next Steps
Next steps are outlined after meetings, so clients stay involved in important financial decisions.
Corporate Tax Planning and Business Advisory
Min’s primary areas of focus include corporate tax and related planning for small and medium-sized businesses. She advises business owners on questions such as whether to incorporate, business deductions and salary-versus-dividend decisions.
Her recent work includes assisting sole proprietors with incorporation and Section 85 rollover planning involving eligible business assets, including goodwill and client lists. Recommendations are tailored to each client’s circumstances and applicable tax rules.
Practical Support as Businesses Grow
In addition to corporate tax services, MHL CPA provides financial accounting, cloud bookkeeping and part-time virtual controllership.
Virtual controller support can include reviewing financial statements, answering accounting questions, preparing government remittances and coordinating year-end working papers with a client’s external accountant. MHL CPA can work alongside a business’s existing bookkeeping team rather than replacing it.
The firm uses cloud accounting tools including Xero and Hubdoc to help organize financial information and documents.
A Team Focused on Communication
Min works with accounting and bookkeeping professionals to support clients’ ongoing needs. Her goal is to provide clear communication, practical advice and continuity, so business owners know who to contact and what happens next.
New client relationships typically begin with an approximately 30-minute consultation to discuss the business, the services required and the next steps. Follow-up information and document requests are provided based on each client’s circumstances.
Serving Ottawa and Kelowna
MHL CPA Professional Corporation has offices in Ottawa, Ontario, and Kelowna, British Columbia. The firm supports businesses in both communities and also provides remote accounting services to eligible Canadian clients.
Ottawa and Ontario are the firm’s current growth focus, while Min continues to serve her established Kelowna and British Columbia client base.
